Our privacy policy

We are registered with the Data Protection Commissioner as a data controller. We abide by the following eight data protection principles:

  1. Obtain and process information fairly.
  2. Keep it only for one or more specified, explicit and lawful purposes.
  3. Use and disclose it only in ways compatible with these purposes.
  4. Keep it safe and secure.
  5. Keep it accurate, complete and up-to-date.
  6. Ensure that it is adequate, relevant and not excessive.
  7. Retain it for no longer than is necessary for the purpose or purposes.
  8. Give a copy of his/her personal data to than individual, on request.

Why we hold data

When carrying out our role as trustee to pension schemes, we are responsible for the governance of those schemes. This responsibility requires us to hold scheme-level and individual-level data. This data may be given to us by the pension scheme employer, the scheme Registered Administrator, an insurance company providing risk benefits, the scheme advisor and/or the pension scheme member.

Data held by us may be used by us and/or given to one or more of the above parties for the purpose of ensuring that benefits are insured or benefits are administered in accordance with the trust deed and rules.

Data held by us or information known to us may be passed to Government departments, agencies or any other arm of the State if we are required to do so by law.

Trident Pension Trustees Limited is registered with the Data Protection Commissioner (reference 13821/A) and is authorised by the Department of Justice and Equality to carry on business as a trust or company service provider.

We will contact you subsequently and we may hold your contact details for a period of time in order to follow up with you. Any information that you provide to us may be held by us for a period of time in order to deal with your enquiry.

We may contact you in the future for marketing purposes. You will always have the right to immediately opt out of future contact.
